The application will be in two stages:
- Register for Part-Time JAMB Registration and
- DLI UNILAG Application
Applicants for the Distance Learning Institute programme shall not be less than 16 years of age
by 31st October, 2019. Only applicants born on or before October 31, 2003 are eligible to apply.
Offer of admission into programmes listed above is subject to the availability of qualified applicants.
There will be no UTME Examination for Distance Learning Institute, University of Lagos.
2.2 B.Sc. ECONOMICS
QUALIFICATIONS FOR ENTRY INTO YEAR ONE
WASSCE/SSCE/GCE/NECO (O’ Level) or its equivalent with 5 credits to include English Language, Mathematics, Economics plus any other two (2)subjects at not more than two (2) sittings.
2.3 B.Sc. PUBLIC ADMINISTRATION
QUALIFICATIONS FOR ENTRY INTO YEAR ONE
WASSCE/SSCE/GCE/NECO (O’ Level) or its equivalent with 5 credits to include English Language, Mathematics, Government plus any other two (2) subjects at not more than two(2) sittings.
2.4 B.Sc. EDUCATION SCIENCE PROGRAMME
QUALIFICATIONS FOR ENTRY INTO YEAR ONE
Applicants must have relevant professional experience, plus any ONE of the following three qualifications:
(a) WASSCE/SSCE/GCE/NECO (O’ Level) or its equivalent with credits in five subjects including English Language and Mathematics and at least two other science subjects; at not more than two(2) sittings from the following:
(i) B.Sc. Education Biology
Biology, Chemistry and one other Science subject of Physics or Agricultural Science.
(ii) B.Sc. Education Chemistry
Chemistry and any two of Physics, Biology, Agricultural Science or any other Science subject.
(iii) B.Sc. Education Mathematics
Mathematics and Physics and one other Science subjects of Chemistry, Biology, Agricultural Science or any other Science subject including at least a pass in Further Mathematics.
(iv) B.Sc. Education Physics
Physics and Chemistry and one other Science subject of Biology, Agricultural Science or any other science subject.
(b) Teacher’s Grade II Certificate (TCII) with at least Merit in five subjects including English Language, Mathematics and at least two other science subjects at the TCII/WASSCE/SSCE/NECO/GCE (Ordinary Level) or its equivalent;
( c) Any other qualification that may be considered equivalent to (a) and (b) above, by the University Senate.
QUALIFICATIONS FOR ENTRY INTO YEAR TWO
(a) Two A/Level passes in proposed subjects of study(Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics) plus the WASSCE/GCE/SSCE/NECO (O’ Level)or its equivalent with credit in five subjects in English Language, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, Physics and any other science subject (For Education Mathematics at least a pass in Further Mathematics is Compulsory)
(b) National Certificate in Education (NCE) obtained from the former College of Education, University of Lagos, in the Science subjects to be offered, or from any College of Education recognized by the Senate of the University of Lagos with Credit/Merit (in proposed subject of study) and any other Science subject
GENERAL ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
2.1 Candidates seeking admission to DLI must meet the minimum entry requirements of Five (5) Credits in WASSCE/SSCE/GCE/NABTEB/NECO O’Level or its equivalent, including English Language and Mathematics, taken at not more than two (2) sittings.
2.2 Applicants for Distance Learning Institute programme shall not be less than 16 years of age.
2.3 Any other equivalent qualifications approved by the University Senate.
3.0SPECIFIC ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
3.1Year One Accounting
In addition to the general entry requirements, the Five (5) Credits must be in relevant subjects (Accounting, Economics, and Commerce)
3.2 Year Two Accounting
In addition to the general entry requirements, the candidate must possess ONE of the following:
The National Diploma (ND) in Accounting and other related fields with a minimum overall grade of Upper Credit.
The Higher National Diploma (HND) Lower Credit in Accounting and other related fields.
The Joint University Preliminary Examinations Board (JUPEB) certificate with Credit grades in Three (3) relevant subjects.
GCE ‘A’ Level with Credit grades in Three (3) relevant subjects.
3.3 Year Three Accounting
In addition to the general entry requirements, the candidate must possess ONE of the following:
The Higher National Diploma (HND) in Accounting and other related fields with a minimum overall grade of Upper Credit.
Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of pass in a relevant discipline obtained from a recognized University.
Recognized professional qualifications, such as ACA, ACCA, ACMA.
4.0 Year One Business Administration
Same as for Accounting Year One
4.1 Year Two Business Administration
In addition to the general entry requirements, the candidate must possess ONE of the following:
The National Diploma (ND) in Business Administration, Business Management, Insurance, Marketing and other related fields with a minimum overall grade of Upper Credit.
The Higher National Diploma (HND) Lower Credit in Business Administration, Business Management, Insurance, Marketing and other relevant disciplines.
The Joint University Preliminary Examinations Board (JUPEB) certificate with Credit grades in Three (3) relevant subjects.
GCE ‘A’ Level with Credit grades in Three (3) relevant subjects.
4.2 Year Three Business Administration
In addition to the general entry requirements, the candidate must possess ONE of the following:
The Higher National Diploma (HND) Business Administration, Business Management, Insurance, Marketing and other related fields with a minimum overall grade of Upper Credit.
Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of pass in a relevant discipline obtained from a recognized University.
(iii) Recognized professional qualifications, such as ACIS, ACIB.
5.0 Year One Economics
In addition to the general entry requirements, the candidate must possess Five (5) Credits in relevant subjects, including Economics.
Year Two Economics
In addition to the general entry requirements, the candidate must possess ONE of the following:
(i) The National Diploma (ND) in Banking and Finance, Insurance, Statistics, Mathematics/ Computer and Actuarial Science and other related fields with a minimum overall grade of Upper Credit.
(ii) The Higher National Diploma (HND) Lower Credit in Banking and Finance, Insurance, Statistics, Mathematics/ Computer, Actuarial Science and other related fields.
Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of pass in a relevant discipline obtained from a recognized University.
The Joint University Preliminary Examinations Board (JUPEB) certificate with Credit grades in Three (3) relevant subjects.

6.0 Year One Public Administration
In addition to the general entry requirements, the candidate must possess Five (5) Credits in relevant subjects, including Government.
Year Two Public Administration
In addition to the general entry requirements, the candidate must possess ONE of the following:
The National Diploma (ND) in Public Administration, Secretarial Administration and other related fields with a minimum overall grade of Upper Credit.
The Higher National Diploma (HND) Lower Credit in Public Administration, Secretarial Administration and other related fields
Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of pass in a relevant discipline obtained from a recognized University.
The Joint University Preliminary Examinations Board (JUPEB) certificate with Credit grades in Three (3) relevant subjects.
GCE ‘A’ Level with Credit grades in Three (3) relevant subjects.

7.0 Year One Education Biology
In addition to the general entry requirements, the candidate must possess ONE of the following:
SSCE/WASSCE/GCE (Ordinary level), NABTEB, NECO or equivalent with Credits in Five (5) subjects, including English Language, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry and any other subjects;

7.1 Year Two Education Biology
In addition to the general entry requirements, the candidate must possess ONE of the following:
The National Certificate of Education (NCE) with a minimum of Three (3) Merit grades in relevant teaching subjects.
The National Diploma (ND) in relevant fields with a minimum of Upper Credit.
The Joint University Preliminary Examinations Board (JUPEB) certificate with Credit grades in Three (3) relevant subjects.
GCE ‘A’ Level with at least Credit grades in Three (3) relevant subjects.
Year Three Education Biology
In addition to the general entry requirements, the candidate must possess the Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of pass in a relevant discipline obtained from a recognized University.
8.0 Year One Education Chemistry
In addition to the general entry requirements, the candidate must possess ONE of the following:
SSCE/WASSCE/GCE (Ordinary level), NABTEB, NECO or its equivalent with Credits in Five (5) subjects, including English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology and any other subjects;
Teacher’s Grade II Certificate with at least Merit in Five (5) subjects, including English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology and any other subjects.

UNILAG DLI LECTURES /DURATIONS
Dli program is a very fast program it is being run for between three, four or five years (depending on your method of entry) the five years is divided into five sessions, they have one session per year in which you come for lectures twice in a month, note that dli students receives lectures only on Saturdays, dli have what they call the residential programme, residential programme is usually held every year of the exams it is the duration in which the regular student would have to evacuate the school hostel for the dli students, each dli student will be given a hostel in the school for exam revisions and exams for one month, though it’s not compulsory but it is recommended you be around because a lot of revision and assignments will be given, talking about assignments take note that dli doesn’t joke with assignment, so if u don’t attempt your assignment know that you are joking around with carry over, and also try to get class notes.
UNILAG DLI MODULES
A module is a self-contained course that usually lasts for one semester. It covers just one course and is assessed independently.
UNILAG LMS
UNILAG DLI LMS (Learning Management System) is a software application for the administration, documentation, tracking, reporting, and delivery of modules, assignments, and other relevant study
materials. The learning management system concept emerged directly from e- learning.
ALL DLI students have a username and password to access the LMS to download course modules and do their assignments. when you are admitted into DLI
you can access the LMS.

DOES DLI STUDENTS GO FOR NYSC?
For now No, dli students don't go for service but upon rounding your program you will only be entitled to an exemption letter, so therefore you will be given the NYSC certificate.
